Quality and regulation

Students should have an interest in the systems of organisation behind society, in the configuration and ordering of political communities and in the principles and rules governing personal and social relations. They must show a curiosity in learning about the historical, philosophical and dogmatic foundations of legal systems, while seeking to implement the ideals of justice that underpin them.

They must also have the ability to analyse and understand social phenomena, diagnose them and propose solutions. They will also possess a capacity for: advanced analysis, synthesis and teamwork; understanding and abstract thought; expressing themselves; social interaction; a broad general vision of the world and its future. Knowledge of another language (preferably English) is also necessary.

  • To master a refined legal language, with a solid knowledge of the dogmatics and exegesis of law.
  • To gain an overview of the Spanish legal system, its material, formal and cognitive sources, the settings in which it applies and the foundations on which it is constituted.
  • To develop the skills and abilities necessary to apply the Spanish legal system and to be able to take up roles in the public or private sphere (prosecuting, advising, defending, mediating or others) typical of a law graduate.
  • To be able to evaluate, criticise, discuss, elaborate and present proposals of a legal nature based on an understanding of the context (social, economic, international, etc.) in which they are raised.
  • To become an impartial legal expert who takes on roles in the profession with the responsibility and dignity of someone who is aware of the commitment this task implies: seeking and implementing justice effectively, transcendental for the common and private good.
